On Saturday July 18, 2009, Team Verde Barbell attended a 100% Raw powerlifting meet Prescott Valley, Arizona. Team Verde Barbell had 3 members competing Andy, Jose and Luis, their fitness training paid off.
Andy competed in the powerlifting event in the 198 lb weight class and in the 30-34 age group. In the powerlifting event three lifts are included the squat, bench and deadlift. This was Andy’s first experience competing in squat. Andy set a new state record in all three lifts and set a new national and world record in the bench press. The final lifts were 405 lb (squat), 367.5 lb (bench), and 445 lb (deadlift).
Jose competed in the powerlifting event in the 181 lb weight class and in the 15-17 age group. This was Jose’s first experience competing in powerlifting. Jose did very well for his first time competing and ended up 2nd place for his age and weight group. His final lifts were 315 lb (squat), 260 lb (bench), and 360 lb (deadlift).
Luis competed in the powerlifting event in the 114 lb weight class and in the 15-17 age group. This was Luis’ first experience competing in powerlifting. Luis did very well for his first time competing and ended up 2nd place for his age and weight group. His final lifts were 115 lb (squat), 95 lb (bench), and 135 lb (deadlift).

Powerlifting Meet on 7/18/09 In Northern Arizona
On Saturday July 18, 2009, a 100% Raw powerlifting meet will be held in Prescott Valley, Arizona. This will be a full meet including the bench press, squat, deadlift and curl. Many participants are expected to show up to compete. The level of fitness will be impressive.
The meet will be held at Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Doors will open at 7:30 am and lifting will start at 9:30 am. The president of 100% Raw, Paul Bossi, will be in attendance. For more information see the 100% Raw website at www.rawpowerlifting.com
